Hi! I'm Sofia Alba (Aliabeva) - an artist from Russia, now living in Tasmania.
My work has its roots in the Classic Russian Academic Art School.
As a result, my work is not limited to one particular style or technique.
My artworks explore very different media and employ a variety of techniques.
After moving to Hobart I was inspired by the unique Australian wildlife. Starting from simple sketches and artworks now I'm working on several series about this one. I have nearly completed a series on Australian birds, and I have some other interesting projects in the pipeline.
I worked as a web-designer and illustrator using traditional and CG media. In my free time I gave free rein to my artistic inclinations, creating artworks in pastel, acrylic and oil.
I graduated with a specialist degree in graphic design from Southern Federal University (Russia), including advanced skills in art, graphic design, and CG.
I started art school when I was 8 years old, first in Volgograd and then in Taganrog. These schools laid the foundations of my knowledge of art.
I'm happy to take commissions.
